Burnout is the ultimate crisis of self-esteem, so it’s easy to see how being in that state can have an impact on our business success. Taking money for our services can be especially difficult when self-esteem is low. In this session, we’ll talk about some of the major sources of burnout – the Dreaded “Shoulds” and the Warm Fuzzies – and how to get past them and back to functioning happily and effectively. We’ll then look at the many important intangibles that go into pricing ourselves and our services. We’ll discover that our clients are getting a lot more than they – or we – ever imagined. The burnout feeling that “I’m not worth much” can then be transformed into the thoughtful question “How much am I worth?”
Dani’s dog-training and behavior-consulting practice, Dogs & Their People, is all about promoting healthy and happy relationships between dogs and their people. To help accomplish this goal, Dani also focuses on the client-consultant relationship. She writes about this extensively in her book “Teaching People Teaching Dogs.”
Dani is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), a Team Evaluator for the Delta Society’s Pet Partners program, and a Field Representative/Instructor for Paws With a Cause.
Dani lives in New Mexico with her husband, Jerry, and their German Shepherds whom she has trained and titled in competition obedience, tracking, and herding. This website is all about the dogs!
