Daphne Robert-Hamilton

Daphne Robert-Hamilton is a San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers graduate and she followed that with an internship to focus on dog aggression. She is also a Certified Pet Dog Trainer through the Certification Council of Pet Dog Trainers.

Daphne’s past includes graphic design, publishing and a 12 year career in the field of Dressage horse training. She apprenticed with a couple of Grand Prix level riders and horses (German and French). She obtained her Level 1 – Coaching Certificate from the Canadian Equestrian Federation. She left the horse industry due to back problems.

Daphne also became very involved in competition obedience with both of her Doberman Pinschers. Both dogs were finalists in the Doberman Pinscher Club of America’s Top 20 Obedience in the United States – her female in 2000 and her male in 2002. They’ve also participated in agility, flyball and conformation showing. However, her extensive use of compulsion, intimidation, force, pain, and coercion had a very negative effect on the performance of behaviors in the ring as well as her relationship with her dogs. Daphne is now a cross-over trainer.

Daphne has formed a continuing educational group called South Bay Trainers. The group is open to any animal professional wanting to learn more about animal learning theory, behavior, training, and more. She has a passion for information and searching for answers looking towards the scientific community for information.
